Are your candles really vegan and non-toxic?

Absolutely! We take great pride and care in ensuring that our candles are vegan and non-toxic. This means we do not test our candles on animals. We have a rabbit and we couldn't bear to think about animal testing. We also source our products from reputable companies that certify their products are truly non-toxic. This means no phthalates, no lead, no BPA, no known carcinogens. We would not sell something that we wouldn't use ourselves.

How do I care for my candle?

  1. The first time you burn your new candle please make sure to give yourself 3-4 hours for it to burn. Upon lighting it, keep your candle burning until the melt pool reaches the edge of the container and is approximately 1/4" deep.

  2. For each consecutive burn, always allow the melt pool to reach the edges of the container before extinguishing. This will prevent tunneling and increase your candle's scent throw.

  3. For consecutive burns, try to keep burning under 4 hours.

  4. Keep your cotton wick trimmed to 1/4" before each burn.

  5. Always place lit candles on a stable, heat-resistant flat surface and away from drafts, vents, ceiling fans, and air currents.

  6. Keep burning candles out of the reach of children and pets.

Can I reuse the jar once I've finished my candles?

Of course! Because we use soy wax, it's very easy to clean and then reuse or recycle your containers. Once you're done with your candle, you can use a hair dryer to remove the last bits of wax. Pour the melted wax into a paper cup or onto a paper plate and throw it away with the base of the wick. DO NOT pour it down your sink, as wax can clog your pipes. Then, simply clean out the container with warm water and soap. That's it!

Why does my candle have a "wet spots" or "frosting"?

Frosting and wet spots are all signs that we are truly using soy wax. Soy wax, like most natural waxes, expand and change after the manufacturing process. Both frosting and wet spots are caused by the same issue - temperature changes. In the case of frosting, the soy wax is forming crystals, while in the case of wet spots, the candle is pulling away from the glass container.

We do our best to prevent frosting, but temperature changes due to shipping is impossible to prevent - which means wet spots and frosting are inevitable. However, wet spots and frosting in no way changes the life, quality, burn time, or scent of the candle. If you see them, you know we are truly using soy wax.
